Though originally developed for IAQ control, the Steril-Aire application methodology also awards users with significant energy and maintenance-saving benefits. The UVC lights successfully eliminate the bio-film (dirt) that fouls surface heat transfer - completely cleaning and continuously maintaining coils and drain pans to "as new" condition.

This phenomenon can bring significant improvements in coil heat-transfer efficiency, pressure drop, and subsequent lower fan rpm. The end benefit is a big reduction in power consumption. Many commercial building operators estimate that UVC lights have yielded 25-30% reductions in their total A/C system energy usage.
